We have garments of protection that we should wear as believers everyday.
The Power of the Blood
The Blood of Jesus
has the power to break all covenants with hell, thus people under generation
curses can say "I apply the Blood of Jesus on whatever
situation." The application of the
blood was given in the Old Testament for protection as well, as we see during
the Passover in Egypt. Today, we apply
the Blood of Jesus by faith over our lives and for protection and it is
perfectly Biblical and not wrong. During times of trouble, travel or terrorism,
or while traveling in today's world, on applying the Blood by faith in our
situations, we are protected by supernatural fortress walls. It is only because of the Blood of Jesus
that we can have a relationship with Father God who created the Heavens and the
Universe. It is because of the Blood
that we can call Him Abba Father.
I myself learned of
the protection power of the blood as after a few months of surrendering to
Christ as a strange thing started to happen.
I would have dreams where I would get up in shock feeling as if someone
was strangling me! It never happened to
me before. I would get up crying in a
choked voice "The Blood of Jesus!" and immediately the thing would
leave! No one ever taught me to say
"the Blood of Jesus" and I do not know how that came about, but it
impressed me that there was something about the Blood of Jesus, though I was so
new in Christ. I was deeply concerned
about these attacks, however. I later
spontaneously would pray prayers of protection, binding evil, etc., and found
immense breakthroughs and changes in situations when I did that.
As the Blood was
applied to the doorposts in Egypt during the Passover, today we too pray and
through prayer ask for the Blood of Jesus to be applied on our lives, our
homes, as shelter, even in times of evil, apply the Blood, cover ourselves with
the Blood, and we will see mighty breakthroughs and protection. The Blood reminds us of our covenant
relationship with the Lord. Because of
our relationship with God, we can experience miracles.
The Name of Jesus
Another garment of protection is
the Name of Jesus. When we walk speaking
the Name of Jesus, the Presence of Jesus surrounds us like a garment and the
old destroyer flies away in horror.
The name of Jesus has
great authority on in the Heavens, on Earth and under the Earth!
Philippians
2:10: That at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth;
Luke 10:17: The seventy returned with joy, saying,
"Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name
Mark 16:17-18
"These signs
will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons,
they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink
any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and
they will recover."
Ephesians 1:23: Jesus Name:
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and
every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to
come.
Acts 4:12: There is salvation in no one else! God has
given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved."
Name That Demons
Recognize
There was once a
group of people who prayed for the 10/40 prayer window and had a secret special
mission during their prayers. They would
walk around a place, claiming it for Christ or they would even go to places of
strongholds in a town or city and pray them down. Such was the case when a group of young
Americans went to Calcutta. They went to
the Kali Temple, the few temples in India where blood sacrifice is
performed. In the early days, even
children were sacrificed and the air of gloom and depression mingled with the
smell of blood makes it a miserable temple to visit amidst noise and
confusion. These Americans went inside
the Kali temple and sat down. A few feet
away was a Brahmin priest fast asleep in the noise and chaos of the
temple. The Americans started to pray
softly for the people and for the strongholds to be broken down. They softly called on the name of Jesus. As soon as they said "Jesus" the
temple priest opened his eyes and looked sharply around. He sat up after a while and stared hard at
the Americans. It was as if the demon
surrounding him heard Jesus and alerted him to wake up. It was an uncomfortable moment as the priest
stared at them, and they continued to pray softly, hoping he would not get an
incline of what they were doing. After a
few minutes, they went off for they felt it was not safe for them at that
moment. This incident impressed upon
them the power of the name of Jesus.
The Name of Jesus during
Accidents
In another instance,
a lady was sharing her testimony in church of an incident when she was driving
her car, when a huge truck suddenly came near the car about to ram into the car
because of the speed of the truck and the heavy weight it was carrying. She could do nothing at that moment, not even
pray, but she called out loudly "JESUS!" The next instant, her car swerved around out
of reach of the truck which had already hit the place where she was driving, if
she was still there, but miraculously she was taken out of the truck's
way! She believes that the way her car
moved forward was supernatural and the power of the name of Jesus was amazing!
Rabi Maharaj's
Testimony
In another situation,
in Death of a Guru, Rabi Maharaj's nani had told him that if none of the gods
were able to help him in trouble, there was the name of another god, Jesus, and
he could call on Jesus and Jesus would help him. One day, Rabi was out in the fields, when a
huge serpent stood before him, the serpent's hood raised ready to attack. Rabi remembered his nani telling him about
Jesus and he called out "Jesus" loudly. At that moment, the serpent seemed to look
surprised and suddenly quickly slithered away clumsily. Rabi was amazed at what he saw and from that
day onwards, was determined to find out more about this "Jesus."
Protection of Name of
Jesus from Evil
In my early days of
knowing Christ, I was temporarily staying in a hostel for a season in
Kolkotta. One evening, as I came to my
room, which was shared with a few other girls, I noticed a couple of girls were
busy doing some sort of ritual on the veranda.
I have no idea what it was. As I was about to sleep that night, the word
"evil" flashed through my brain and suddenly I was suffocated with a
blackness I had never seen before. I
felt myself being dragged, dragged down far below. I was struggling to speak and struggling to
move! I started trying to pray in my
mind "God is great, God please help me, God who created the Heavens glory
be to You!" Nothing happened and
the attack continued, feeling myself suffocated and sliding down, very down, it
was a "soul slide." Finally
after a long time I struggled to say "In Jesus name, go!" Instantly that thing left
me! In the early dawn, I saw a black
crescent moon hanging in the air. I
understood that the channel of attack had been through that. It then faded away. I learned there is power in Jesus name when
we take our authority and rebuke evil telling it to leave in Jesus name, it has
to leave! We have nothing to fear when
Jesus is here! We are hidden under His
wings of protection!
We have spiritual authority in Jesus'
name. Call on the name of Jesus loudly
and speak pray in Jesus' name, rebuke evil in Jesus name, and ask things in
Jesus' name. In His name alone do we
have spiritual authority and in our own names, we cannot have power over the
supernatural! We see this in the sons of
Sceva who tried to rebuke evil boldly in themselves without taking the name of
Jesus, and how they were brutally attacked by the evil spirits. In Jesus' name, we can bind spirits and cast
down powers and principalities. As
believers, there will be times when we are directly confronted with evil and
need to rise up, bind, rebuke, and caste out all in the name of Jesus. In order to take the name of Jesus in
spiritual warfare, we need to be in a relationship with Jesus we will be
spiritually attacked. We see this
below. Acts 19:11-17New King James
Version (NKJV): 15 And the evil spirit
answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
16 Then the man in
whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered[b] them, and prevailed
against them,[c] so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 This
became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on
them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
The truth is we have to have a communion relation with Christ and receive spiritual birth through belief in Him, His gift of eternal realizing we are sinners, saved by His love and grace, we can appropiate the power of His Name and the Blood in our lives.
